Meet Your Guides

Our Guides are carefully selected for their knowledge, personality and driving ability. Extensively trained, all guides are qualified by and registered with the London Tourist Board. Many of our guides have special interests and hold extra qualifications in, for example, architecture, history, art galleries, the theatre and shopping. Below is just a small selection of them.

  • Ray

Blue Badge guide Ray Ray has been guiding with us since 1989. He holds the City of London badge, the London Blue Badge and the Windsor Castle accreditation. Ray especially enjoys working with family groups and conducts tours all over the UK and Ireland on overnight trips, in addition to the normal day-trips from London. He specialises in history, architecture, Winston Churchill, WWII connections, Cathedrals and castles. A very popular guide, we asked Ray for his 'secret'. He replied: "I like people, that's all. I suppose my guiding approach is to try to share my enthusiasm for this country's rich heritage whilst making new friends from all over the world. I'm delighted when I hear that my tour has been educational, but I get just as much satisfaction from hearing that it was entertaining too. I think a good tour should always contain Facts, Figures and Fun!"
  • Richard

Tour guide Richard Richard's passion is travel and visiting new places. He lived in Japan for a number of years where he became totally absorbed in the history and culture. On returning to London he was reminded just how fascinating his own country is, so to share his enjoyment with visitors from overseas he became a driver guide. Besides guiding, Richard is a part-time teacher and potter. His interests are in art and design, music and martial arts. Richard hopes that by the end of your tour you will be eager to come back for more.
  • Jo

Tour guide Jo Jo has lived in London for 30 years and loves to share her enthusiasm for all it has to offer. Her childhood was spent moving around every 2 years or so which has made her very flexible and adaptable! After graduating from university with a degree in French and Economics she spent a year teaching English in Spain. She has also worked in magazine publishing, using her languages, but working as a Blue Badge Guide is the best job in the world. As a mother of 4 (now grown up) children, we can safely say families are a speciality. London is not only magnificent — it can be a lot of fun too!
  • Jim

Sightseeing guide Jim Jim has driven everywhere from Kathmandu to Timbuktu and has visited every State but North Dakota. Originally from Scotland, he enjoys showing off London, the most vibrant city in Europe and a great base for exploring the sites of England.
  • Nick

Tour guide Nick Hard to believe, but Nick brings with him over 30 years of experience of guiding visitors around Britain's beautiful sights. When he's not busy sharing his wealth of knowledge, Nick enjoys gastronomy, shopping and sport.
  • Ian

Blue Badge tour guide Ian Ian qualified as a Blue Badge Guide in 2005. He has many interests including tennis, badminton, motor racing, literature and theatre. He also enjoys the outdoor life, in particular walking, cycling and gardening, and has travelled widely throughout Europe and around the world. He enjoys and is great at working with family groups. He loves sharing his knowledge of royalty and palaces.
  • Jane

Experienced tour guide Jane Born and bred in the Cotswolds, Jane was educated at Oxford. She has lived in London, Bath and abroad with her family and diplomat husband. Her interests are now history, architecture, gardens, antiques, music, art galleries and the theatre.
  • Russell

Blue Badge Guide Russell Russell is a native Londoner. After training as a professional actor in 1980, he worked regularly in numerous movies, theatre and television productions in many countries. Russell is a qualified Blue Badge guide and he is sure to provide you with unique insight into London's rich tradition of theatre and the arts.
  • Marcus

Tour guide Marcus Marcus is our youngest driver guide: friendly and knowledgeable. A History graduate and fluent French speaker, Marcus has spent five years guiding in London and throughout Britain and Western Europe. His enthusiasm and sense of humour will ensure you have an unforgettable day out!
  • Ian

Tour guide Ian Ian is one of our most experienced guides. He has lived in London all his life and had a career as an Investment Marketing executive with Britain's leading Insurance Company. He enjoys Theatre and Opera, skiing, tennis, golf at prestigious clubs and social life at famous Gentlemen's clubs.
  • David

Blue Badge guide David David wears two professional hats — combining a long career as an actor both on stage and television with his qualification as a blue-badge driver guide. The combination, he thinks, works well. "There's no point in doing either job if you're not entertaining" he says — "and if you're not entertaining with all the dramatic stories of London's history at your fingertips, you're in trouble". He particularly enjoys guiding families.
  • Donna

Tour guide Donna Donna is a Londoner who loves the city she was born in and wants to share this enthusiasm. She enjoys museums and historic palaces and houses, especially the behind-the-scenes stories, the characters — famous and infamous — and how life was really lived. What is more, Donna knows the London of the here and now — especially the shopping!
  • Jo H

Blue Badge guide Jo Having qualified as a Blue Badge Tourist Guide in 1996, Jo has a career background in tourism and an interest in sport and agriculture amongst other subjects. Jo says, "I have a great job: entertaining visitors in and around a great city and country — London and the UK."
  • Kas

After completing a degree in Politics & Economics, Kas spent a number of years in banking. In 1984 he qualified as a Blue Badge guide and since then has been doing a blend of driver-guiding, conference work, extended touring and museum lectures. His special interests include museums, stately homes, aircraft, battlefields, European history, art & astronomy.
  • John

Professional tour guide John As well as being a professional guide, John is also a writer and a television and film actor with a 20 year career — so he likes to concentrate on the great stories and characters of history. "Bring England to life" is his motto. History is made of real flesh and blood people of all shapes and personalities both noble and ignoble. Wars, love affairs, treachery, sacrifice, avarice, ego, greatness — it's all here and John likes to make sure his clients are taken to the heart of it — whatever their interest might be and wherever it might be. He says "If I can get them to visualise the exciting living history around them, I've done my job".
